Ready for the chase? With King and Rutherford both firing and the total ballooning in the closing overs, Jamaica Kingsmen now face an uphill task chasing 207 to win. A little luck and a lot of class - Brandon King led from the front with a magnificent 73 off 51 balls, anchoring the innings from start to finish. Yes, he got a bit lucky in a couple of instances, but it's important to mention that he capitalized on it and made Kingsmen pay. Quinton de Kock got things flying early after a blistering start, 27 off 15 balls, from the debutant Zachary Carter. De Kock forged a 72-run partnership with King before getting dismissed by Hassan Khan. But just as we thought that the game's momentum might switch after the fall of the second wicket, Sherfane Rutherford exploded late with an unbeaten 50 off just 28 balls to power the total past 200. Jamaica's bowlers had little answer. Hunain Shah and Hassan Khan were economical, while the rest of the attack leaked runs freely across the board.
A quick mid-inning chat - Brandon King says that he loves batting at his home ground because he is familiar with the conditions, which usually favor run-scoring. Keemo Paul sprints to his left and slides down, but spills out the catch. The ball backward square leg fielder picks it up and throws at the bowler's end, as he spots that the batters are taking a triple. However, Sherfane rejects the call for the third one, but by that time King is halfway down the track. Russell collects the ball and dislodges the stumps, but the third umpire sees that King is well inside the crease.
