Between them, the two seasoned campaigners made sure there were no hiccups along the way, getting the job done with ease and very much on their own terms.

Just not enough on the board - For long stretches, Welsh Fire Women's innings chugged along in second gear, third at best, until Devine and Kemp hit the switch during the middle phase and gave it some real shape. Devine fell just short of a second straight fifty, but Kemp stuck around till the finish to see the innings through. Among the Rockets bowlers, debutant seamer Phillips stood out above the rest, with her slingy action troubling the batters throughout.
