Disciplined Falcons restrict rampage - On the bowling front, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons put together a highly commendable collective effort to ensure the game stayed well within their touching distance. Despite the Kings clicking along at a healthy scoring rate, the Falcons' bowlers showed immense character by picking up wickets at crucial junctures to prevent a total blowout. Alzarri Joseph was once again the standout performer as he bowled his heart out to finish with 3 scalps again. Shamar Springer got a couple, while Rahkeem Cornwall, Usama Mir, and skipper Fabian Allen chipped in with one wicket apiece to close out the innings.
Spectacular Gous with the bat - While wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals from the other end, Andries Gous remained completely unbothered as he went on a spectacular, lone-wolf rampage. Gous continued on his merry way, scoring freely and clearing the boundary ropes entirely at his own will to completely anchor the Kings' innings. Gous emerged as the undisputed star of the batting display with a top score of 82, a vital contribution considering that no other Saint Lucia batter even managed to cross the 20-run threshold.
Openers set the early intent - Saint Lucia Kings captain Roston Chase will be pleased with his team's effort after electing to bat first and successfully posting a formidable total of 187 for 8 on the board. The innings got off to a confident start as openers Kamil Pooran and Andries Gous took the attack to the bowlers from the front foot, combining crisply to stitch together a quick-fire 23-run opening stand. Saint Lucia Kings skipper - Roston Chase says it was a close game for them. He shares that they had a good score on the board, although they didn’t start as well as they would have liked. He also reveals that he wasn’t supposed to bowl tonight as his finger is still healing, but says desperate times call for desperate measures.
Captain of the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons - Fabian Allen says he thought they had the game, but in the end they just did not get over the line. He gives credit to St. Lucia, saying they put the Falcons under pressure, but adds that his boys fought to the end. On the score at the halfway stage, he feels it was a good wicket but they did not capitalize on it. Now they have to go back to the drawing board, with a few days off before coming back. On what could have been done differently, he says he always backs his players and thought Hamilton would get them over the line, but it was not his day and they fell short. He adds he always believes until the last ball and last delivery that 13 off the last over was possible. It is tough luck tonight, so they will go home, refresh their minds, and come back in the next game.

With Jayden and Alzarri leading a strong opening attack and coming hard after the powerplay, he says they had to keep wickets in hand, get used to the surface, and then the wind helped too, so it was about playing the wind and adjusting. On being successful across different leagues and conditions, he says it is tough, especially in the US where facilities can be tough, so it comes down to the mental side. He credits having good family and good people around him who support him and who he can speak to.
